- This breathable, waterproof low-top hiking shoe is supportive enough to haul a light pack and sporty enough to wear around town. It features a waterproof breathable upper and a breathable bellows tongue to keep out debris, as well as a Gore-Tex&174; waterproof/breathable lining. The 20% recycled EVA anatomical footbed provides cushioning, comfort, and support, and the Patagonia Air Cushion Plus provides shock absorption. This shoe also features a Bi-Fit 80% post consumer recycled polyurethane waterproof insole board that provides support and stability underfoot, and a Vibram Trail Ecostep outsole with 30% recycled rubber that provides excellent traction.

Excellent Hiking shoe

I have hiked many miles in these shoes and they are the best hiking shoes that I have purchased! They are great on rocks, gravel, and difficult climbing terrain. They do run a little wide but if you put on a good pair pair of wool socks they fit well. The gore-tex works wonderfully as well, I hiked 6 miles last night in 3 inches of snow and my feet stayed warm and dry. The shoes performed well past my expectations. Very little slipping even on the snow covered ground. I will be purchasing another pair when these wear out and I have already reccomended them to anyone looking for a good pair of stable, comfortable hiking shoes. FYI, the shoes are true to size.

Fantastic shoe

I usually wear a size 7 but ordered the 7.5 after trying them on in the store. The Gore-tex makes them run a bit smaller. So glad I did because now I can fit a thicker hiking sock inside. These shoes, like other Patagonias, have a narrow, deep heel bed and a higher arch than Merrells. The toe box is normal size. Has a great "rocker" motion for walking & hiking. Am taking them to Alaska next month to do lots of hiking and hope to stay dry!

great shoes!

Based on reviews, I ordered an 8.5 when I wear an 8 in everyday shoes. These shoes are awesome and rainproof! Just walked all over Europe in these and they were awesome. They are heavier hiking shoes, but with that said, I was so happy everyday with these walking between 10-15 miles a day! Well made and sturdy!
