Glove-like fit for a narrow-heeled foot
By paul
Perfect for a narrow-heeled, low volume, wide-forefoot. Think "duck foot". Probably can accommodate a bigger volume foot too.
I wear a 7-1/2 B in a running shoe such as Brooks or Asics, or the Salomon trail running shoes. This is sizing up from a street shoe 7 or 37 European. With Oboz, the Madison or Mystic (built on a women's last) and with clima-dry (sp?) lining, I wear an 8. I think this shoe has a nice front -to-back roll and is laterally well-balanced. I do not have to search around for an arch insert to provide more support. The Oboz arch supports are plenty for my med-high arch. I have a neutral gait and do not want to be over-controlled. These shoes are perfect. I wear the Mystic for outdoor work which can take me onto cement or stone at times. I have added a thin 1/6th" piece of cork under the Oboz insole. I trace it out carefully. The cork addition does not affect the fit of the shoe and adds cushioning. Rolled cork is easily procurable at hardware stores because
it is still used in plumbing. One more thing. I think these are being discontinued. I am not aware of another women's only lasted boot to replace them. Maybe yes and maybe no.

Solid boot
By kkb
I ended up ruining my hiking shoes by wearing them while working (many times) in the yard. So, I started looking for a replacement and stumbled upon the Oboz brand - I had never heard of it before. I ordered a few of them from Amazon with the intent of keeping one and sending the others back. I ordered the "Oboz Women's Mystic Low BDRY Hiking Shoe" in Raspberry, the "Oboz Women's Arete Low Hiking Boot" in Shale, and this one in Cranberry. They are all very well made and have incredible removable insoles. I ended up keeping the Arete. But they are all great shoes. I could have easily kept all of them (and believe me, I thought about it!).
If you haven't heard of Oboz before, go to their website ([...]/) and read about them. Oboz stands for "Outside Bozeman" (Montana). They have the slogan "One More Tree" and they plant a tree for every pair sold. This is what it says on their website: "For every pair of shoes we sell, we plant a tree—but not just some ornamental
shrub. Partnering with Trees for the Future, we plant beneficial trees that empower struggling communities in Asia, Africa, and Latin America."
There's more on their site, you should check it out.

Too small
By Eileen E
Seemed like they might be comfortable if not for the fit. Purchased 2 pair of Oboz in the same size but different models/styles. The "Yellowstone " was too big, and the "Madison" was too small. Will be returning both and purchasing a different brand.
