Very poorly made
By nmh
Received these in mail and was so excited they came sooner than I expected. However, when I opened the box the shoes were not anywhere near the color shown as shitake. KEEN Women's Alamosa Mid Hiking Boot
They were more olive but I was OK with that and thought they still looked good. When I put them on they were not comfortable but decided to go ahead and wear them inside to give them a chance. However, I was unable to keep wearing them. The back of the left shoe was not cut correctly and dug into the back of my leg above the heel. The back of the two shoes did not look the same at all. The right shoe had a seam inside that was sticking out and pushing into the right side of my foot. There was little to no arch support and the footbed was hard and did not have any give. I would not recommend these to anyone. They have to go back.

Great!
By S. Mares
I always love Keens because I have a narrow heel with a wider toe, and they seem to cater to that market. These fit as comfortably as I expected, and after a few walkarounds, I have not noticed any rubbing or uncomfortable spots. I haven't gotten them out on trail yet, so only time will tell on that.
Update 11/30/13
These got me through a crazy intense three-day, thirty-miles uphill and downhill in an awful hike that was mostly paved with loose churt. (My husband apologized for picking the worst trail ever.) On steep terrain, the tops are somewhat weird and pressed into my Achilles. Undoing the top loop and tying lower seemed to help. I guess that's the trade-off as I have always hiked in shoes before now. On the upside, my ankles were actually much less sore than previous hikes since my feet didn't turn this way and that. Comfy, no blisters (Always wear good technical wool socks when hiking! Smartwool is my favorite, but other brands may work.)
Definitely NOT waterproof at all. Very quick drying. I fell into the first stream I came across. They do dry quickly in front of a fire with sole removed and placed near fire as well. 30-45 minutes of steamed boot and I didn't even notice that they had previously been immersed.
I definitely broke these in. Ready for the next adventure. This time-- I get to pick a trail.

A Quality Hiking Shoe
By Cherry Aimless
Ergonomic design that is built to last. I have had these for about a week and the more I wear them, the more I love them. Not only do they feel good but they look cute too! I have walked about 20 miles in them so far and my feet feel bouncy and supported. The craftsmanship does not disappoint either. This is my first pair of Keens and I will be buying more of the brand in the future.
