Love these shoes!!!!
By momof4
I wasn't sure about ordering these shoes since I've never owned any before. But after reading some of the comments, I decided to try them. And I'm glad I did! I absolutely love these shoes!!! They are SO comfortable to wear. I wear them around town running errands because they feel so good on my feet. I'm not a hiker. I just wanted something waterproof to wear out on messy days, and these do the trick. I would say that if you have wider feet, these may not work for you. They are pretty narrow. I went up about a 1/2 size to accomodate for thicker socks, and I'm glad I did. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

Not the same

Every Fall I get a new pair of Merrell Chameleons. I've always been very pleased with them up until this pair, which was probably my fifth or so pair. I speed walk about 4-5 miles a day. By the next fall the soles are worn out, and I order another pair of Chameleons (see my other reviews about them). The first disappointment was that the bungee cord shoelaces are no longer made in women's Chameleons. Before this pair, I never had a problem. I could order the shoes, put them on, walk every day, not have to break them in and be on my way. However, this pair was different. I have been wearing them now for a couple of months, but my feet still can't wait to get out of them when I get home. When I first got them and realized this pair was going to be different, I tried breaking them in by wearing them for short periods of time. The worst problem happened when I got on a cruise ship and walked on the outside deck for a hour or so. When I removed the shoe, I had a huge blood
blister on my big toe. So just imagine how that looked on the cruise with my sandals on and my pretty new pedicure/nail polish.

Hiked the Tour de Mont Blanc, Everest Base Camp, and Kilimanjaro in these!
By bex v
These don't seem on first glance to be heavy duty hiking shoes, but they worked fine for me in a variety of hard core hiking situations. I wore them to hike 18 days in Nepal, including a trek to Everest Base Camp. I climbed Kilimanjaro in these and did the Tour de Mont Blanc in France. I will say most hikers had better boots, but these worked. The only drawback in a long term hiking situation is that they are merely water resistant, not water proof. The vented bits allow water in when crossing a stream or stepping into a snow melt puddle. General walking in misty conditions or wet pavements, wet trails is fine. I used them in Ireland as well, where it rained every day, and my feet were fine in the daily water. Add a thick pair of socks and your feet will be dry in normal conditions, but any kind of stream crossing is out if you want your feet dry.
