policy hub with dynamic IP address?

I thought I read somewhere that I could now bootstrap based on hostname instead of IP address.  But does that only work when the hostname is mapped to an ip address in /etc/hosts?  Using CFEngine 3.11.

You could always bootstrap to a histnam, but it was never advised because the IP at the time of bootstrap was stored in policy_server.dat. In 3.11 if you bootstrap to a host the hostname is recorded and it's resolved each agent run.

No you should not have to have an entry in hosts.
