error on submit of IEC form on dgft.gov.in

I am applying for IEC # on http://dgft.gov.in/ieconline.htm

Completed the form & uploaded the needed documents. Upon clicking submit & entering dgft zone, I get the final form. Pressing submit button in it does nothing. There is no error shown in the page but browser console shows some errors. Not sure how to proceed further.

1. Anyone else faced this issue & resolved it?

2. What is the alternative if online submission doesn't work?

Hi ,

Did you already try using it in I.E. , please update I.E and try in latest I.E browser , most testing is always done by government departments on I.E browser if it works well or not .

If online fails , you always have the option to download as pdf and submit to your nearest DGFT office .

Hi, 

I faced same issue. 

On the website you will find a link for help desk for filing a trouble ticket, you can use that. 

To my surprise this guy call me multiple time at 11 in night to solve the issue. Never expected from a gov department. 

He will manually submit your application from his end.

My information is that the online form is not useful. I had recently gotten our IEC # and we applied offline. I know a friend who applied online (may be about 6 months ago or so) and he was asked to apply with hard copied. 

Just FYI, we were meticulous in complying with all the procedures and we got our number pretty fast without any hassle.

I used Chrome browser. & now I'll apply offline. The online application seems bogus as documents have to be submitted in hard copy as well.

Hi, 

Just want to chime in with my experience with IEC online submission.

I applied for my IEC online March of 2012. The only time I had problems was while uploading files to the server. There seems to be some strange rule that does not allow you to upload two files with the same name on the same day, so when I was trying to update a file it wouldn't let me.

I called the help desk, got redirected to the local office, but they couldn't help. The next day however I re-tried and was able to upload my documents. I did not have to submit any documents manually at all. Received my signed and stamped certificate in less than a week.

Update: Based on advice here I called the helpdesk (Mumbai #). The guy asked me to send an email with details. Within an hour he replied back with screenshot of application submitted successfully.
