Dear Frances,
Received from the University and passed on for your information.....
(reading the subject line, I though this was about to announce a strange new tourist phenomenon)

Subject: FW: Rise in Garage and Shed Breaks
Dear All,
Please be aware that we have been notified by Thames Valley Police that over the last few days they have seen a dramatic increase in the rise of garage and shed breaks in the area of North Oxford, in particular the areas of Banbury Road and Woodstock Road .
Garages/ Sheds that have been broken into are stand-alone they are not attached to houses. All buildings have had the locks smashed off of the doors and in some cases Cycles have been stolen along with tools from the sheds.
Please be aware if you have any outbuildings in the areas mentioned, check that they are all secure or intact,.
I have attached a top tips sheet for Security of Sheds and Outbuildings that you may find helpful
If you do witness any suspect behaviour , please don’t hesitate to ring 101 or if you see a crime in Progress please phone 999.
If a College witness any suspect behaviour , please notify OUSS .
Kind regards
Belinda
