I understand that Haxe targets specific platforms but is there a way of debugging in Haxe itself ? Are there any visual debuggers that can do so ? Or do we just rely on console outs in the compiled executables ?
thanks

AFAIK you can debug with Haxe sources and breackpoints for Haxe->Flash in IDEA and FlashDevelop, Haxe->JS in VSCode and browsers.

Haxe->Flash also works in VSCode: https://github.com/vshaxe/vshaxe-debugadapter

Not: for VSCode you need to use the latest nightly builds of Haxe - http://hxbuilds.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/builds/haxe/index.html

I also should have provided my main scenario which is to use Haxe for the creation of C / C++ libraries. IOTW, I'm looking for a way to create small fast performing libs without having to code in C/C++.
