HathiTrust Update on August 2013 Activities

Please find our attached our update for the month of August. This month we announce two new partners (Allegheny College and the University of Alabama), the posting of the HathiTrust Executive Director position, the appointment of an Assistant Director for HathiTrust, and the scheduling of open online focus groups to help define the functionality needed for the registry of US federal government documents HathiTrust has undertaken to build. Other exciting updates, including work by the HathiTrust Research Center on the generation of author gender information, and new high-performance storage for full-text search, are included in the attached.
