Ben Heck has a YouTube video where he reverse engineers an oddly shaped LCD (intended to mount to a car visor) to use as part of the back glass of a pinball machine. It's well outside my skill set, but the display is 1024x310, which might make a pretty cool display if we didn't want to make the whole back glass a video display.
