I've run into this too.  Opened an issue at: https://github.com/ArcBees/gwtp-eclipse-plugin/issues/114

You should be able to solve part of this by adding an empty persistence.xml file to src/main/resources/META-INF

Hi, want to use GWTP  4.4 version  ( http://arcbees.github.io/gwtp-eclipse-plugin/4.4)

Unfortunatly the Wizard is produccing a project with  the following errors.

a) No persistence.xml file found in project  //  JPA Problem
b) No connection specified for project. No database-specific validation will be performed. // JPA Problem

c)  It doesnt allow to run as Web Application because the main class is not provided.

Any advice to avoid this, will be very valuable.

Actually if you're using the latest gwtp-eclipse-plugin there should  already a persistence.xml file in the gwtp project under src/main/java/META-INF so you might need to delete that rather than add the persistence.xml file somewhere else.

Hi Richard, I have a question, in 4.4 version, in the  pom file, the run target configuration is a *.jsp file, it is correct?
 because I remember that in older versions this was a *.html file, isn't ?

           <runTarget>NewExample.jsp</runTarget>
                    <modules>
                        <module>mx.new.NewExample</module>
                    </modules>
