Hi, I need help...

My old academic license just expired, and I requested a new license.

I am on the university's network, same as the past 2 years. I was on Gurobi 5.0.0, when I ran grbgetkey [key], i get the new .lic file, but then it came with the "Unable to contact key server apps.gurobi.com". I disabled firewalls, same things happened.

Then I upgraded to Gurobi 6.0.5. This time, when I ran grbgetkey, it didnt attempt to validate, it simply did:

In which folder would you like to store the Gurobi license key file?
[hit Enter to store it in C:\:

--> License key saved to file 'C:\gurobi.lic'.

Press [Enter] to exit

so then I tried running grbvalidate, and I got:

Current academic validation expired on 2015-09-18.

Contacting apps.gurobi.com to update academic validation...

Unrecognized response from validation server.

When I call Gurobi from Python, I get the following message:

ERROR: Validation expired 2015-09-18 - run 'grbgetkey' to refresh it.

If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know.
Thanks in advnace!

We no longer support version 5 for academic users; it is available for commercial users who have a requirement to use the old version.

Academic users should install the latest version (currently 6.0.5) and obtain a fresh license via grbgetkey. Among the changes, the current version of grbgetkey uses a slightly different process to verify that your computer is connected to the university network.
