I received this from someone at Centre for Climate Change at Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad.

They are organising a professional development programme on climate change & water use around mid June in their campus at Hyderabad. Details below. For more information please contact them directly (email addresses listed at the bottom).

Thanks,
Manu

Water is a primary medium through which climate change will have an
impact on people, ecosystems and economies. Climate change is one of
the basic drivers of change for water, alongside demographic,
economic, social and technological forces. Policies, laws and finance
also condition the impact of these basic drivers.

The impact of climate change on water resources around the globe has
serious implications like, changing water levels and climatic
temperatures which in turn affect the economy and future as a whole.
Along with quantity, quality is also deteriorating mainly due to the
indiscriminate use of ground water to hazardous levels, pollution of
rivers and improper management of waste water.

Depleting water resources necessitates water conservation strategies
to be adopted at the national, state and local levels. The challenges
to water resources management today, and those likely to emerge in
future, are getting more complex, demanding greater attention in
developing increased human and institutional capacities,
infrastructure and management services in integrating the diverse
water uses and responding to changing demands and supply scenarios.

In this regard, Centre for Climate Change (CCC), Engineering Staff
College of India (ESCI) is organising a ‘Continuing Professional
Development Programme on Climate Change & Water Use and Management -
Water Mission in National Action Plan for Climate Change (NAPCC).

Participants from  Junior/Middle & Senior level officers from
Irrigation and Command Area Departments, Agriculture, Metro
waterworks, Panchayat Raj & Rural of different States, Ministries of
Water Resources, Urban and Rural Department, Major and Small Scale
industries of Government of India, Public Health Departments, NABARD,
Sewerage Boards, Municipalities, Municipal Administrations and
Industries having high water usage/NGOs/Pollution Control Boards/
