I re-visited now the Greasemonkey web page and installed the new version in Firefox 58.0.1.
Much to my surprise it is still not possible to install my own user scripts by dragging the *.user.js script files from Windows Explorer onto Firefox.

Is this true?

How else can I install my scripts?

WebExtensions cannot access the file system.

We're trying to work around this ( https://github.com/greasemonkey/greasemonkey/issues/2612 ) but due to that limitation, it's quite difficult.
