Subject: [citsci-discussion-l] CitSci remote sensing of night lights?

Dear CitSci list,

I am co-editing a special issue of Remote Sensing entitled "Remote Sensing of Night Lights – Beyond DMSP": http://www.mdpi.com/journal/remotesensing/special_issues/night_light_RS

Citizen science is not explicitly listed in the description on the journal's webpage, so I wanted to write to let you know that we would be open to considering citizen science approaches as well. Some potential examples:

  • drone, kite, or balloon-based nighttime aerial photography
  • photography from tall buildings
  • crowdsourced lamp classification
  • dashcam-based sensing/classification of lamps

Best wishes,

Christopher Kyba
