Combining GPS with photos, possibly in support of Harvey aerial photography efforts?

Hi, folks - i'm on a Harvey response call and was hoping to dig up some old documentation I think i've seen on PublicLab.org on how to copy GPS data from a logger into an image set. 

I posted it as a question here -- i'm also sure there are multiple ways to do it, so any input is welcomed!
