Hi All,

I am a 2014 pass out and was applying to some of the US universities for Fall 2016. I just sent my Official Transcripts and Provisional Certificate to WES for evaluation. But they have rejected my Provisional Certificate saying that "The document received was not issued by the institution responsible for conducting the examinations (e.g. university, constituent or autonomous college). As the Provisional Certificate is issued by the college there is no way I could get it attested by the University grad official. Also there is still some time till I receive my final degree from University. Can someone please suggest a way around this.

A swift reply will be highly appreciated as this is kinda urgent.

Regards,
Ankit

The unofficial $5 evaluation should be good. Usually, there isn't a need to go through official evaluation for MS programs applications.

It might be the case if they require the transcript from "University of Delhi" instead NSIT. Please check with them.

They have accepted the transcripts. I got them issued from the University itself. The only issue is that they need a copy of degree issued by the University and not by the affiliated college.

Arihant - The university has made this evaluation compulsory. I am not aware of the unofficial $5 evaluation. What is it about?

I was in a similar situation, except that the grad school was refusing to issue the diploma certificate until I submit my undergraduate degree. In such cases, a letter from MPS Bhatia stating that the university is yet to issue the degree certificate for your class helps.

Hi Ankit,

I am pretty sure your degree must be available by now. Get it from the college and send WES the photocopy of it. An unattested copy works just fine. But if you do plan on getting it attested, you would have to go to DU. It would cost 500 INR and would take 2-3 working days. I would suggest you send an unattested copy. I say this as I too had to get a WES evaluation done for my applications. I graduated in 2013 and got my degree by this time last year. I suggest you go to NSIT once.

Also, the $5 WES unofficial evaluation has been discontinued and is not available on the WES website anymore.

Best,
Abhishek
