Hello seniors
I'm doing my undergrad in ICE from NSIT, about to start with my 4th year.
I wish to apply for a master's degree in computer science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence. I have done some research work and have also sent a paper for review to Elsevier. I'll continue to do some more work when college reopens.
I recently went through the requiremets of various universities for admission in the above mentioned or similar programs. They all seem to mention that "UG in CS is desirable, but others are encouraged to apply".
What I wish to know is, what are the odds of me making it to one such program in universities like: Georgia, CMU, UC Berkeley, UC LA, NCSU, Purdue, etc. given the fact I don't have undergraduate degree in CS, but slightly relevant research work and decent academics.
Please if any one can help me get an insight into this, I'll be very thankful!
Any suggestions to improve my chances are welcome.

Thank you
Pallavi Sharma

Its harder but not impossible, Amish Goyal and Vaishnavi have got
GaTech and UMich admits respectively. You seem to be on the right
track.

U can switch from ice to cs. A number of people have done it. U have to show dem relevant projects or work experience.

Hi Pallavi,

Yes, it is difficult for ICE students to get in CS programs especially in some universities which require certain CS subjects to be taken in undergrad which are not part of ICE curriculum. However, that being said, it is not impossible if you show relevant projects and justify your interest in CS. You seem to have a good profile :)

You can get in touch with seniors or PM me if you have any specific questions. Will be happy to help.
