I just paid for my Gqueues subscription as a new user. Now there is no "Create Task" button in my gmail. What is going on? I am on Windows 7 using Chrome.

Ok. So now the button is back, but the background is totally transparent so it doesn't look like a button, but just text. Very weird. I hope it sticks around! And I like having the button with an opaque background like all the other buttons better in case you are considering this as a permanent change.

Thanks

Hi Amy -

Sorry for the trouble.  Have you installed any other Chrome extensions recently that work inside of Gmail?  Sometimes other extensions conflict with the GQueues extension and can cause unexpected results.

As a first steps, I would suggest disabling any recently added extensions and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, Cameron. It seems that your diagnosis is correct. Last week I installed Boomerang for Gmail. When I uninstalled it, the GQueues button popped back into my Gmail account, no problem I am disappointed though because last week it was working find and I thought that I had found a great e-mail processing solution with GQueues + Boomerang. But now it looks like I'm going to have to ditch Boomerang because GQueues is way more important to me.

Do you know if any other users have encountered this combination and had problems? Has anyone out there come up with a solution? I would really like to keep them both if possible. I e-mailed Boomerang support with this problem so I'll see if I hear back from them with any kind of solution.

Thanks for your help!

Blessings,

Okay, well I'm glad you figured out the culprit.  There have been issues in the past with GQueues and Boomerang extensions not working together, and we've modified our extension to get them playing nicely together.  I know they are always updating their extension, so maybe they'll be able to figure out what's changed recently and get things working again.  I'll put it on our list to look at again.

Thanks for the response, Cameron. You are great. Here's the response I got from Boomerang: "Thanks for writing in and for providing us with your feedback. I have received a few reports about GQueues and Boomerang conflicting in the past and it is really helpful to hear about your experience with both extensions.

I'm afraid at this time, we do not have a workaround for this extension conflict. I'm sorry for not having a better answer for you immediately. If anything changes, I can reach out and let you know."

Not super helpful. :-( I will disable Boomerang for now and check back after a while to see if anything has changed. Thanks for your helpful attitude. I'm really liking GQueues and showed it to a friend last night who might be interested.

Okay, I've put this on our list to examine and see if we can make any improvements to the two extensions cooperating together better.

And thanks for spreading the word about GQueues!

I figured out a workaround that lets me keep Boomerang! I just use the GQueues chrome extension to create a task from the open email page instead of the Gmail for GQueues "Create Task" button. That has the same functionality and seems to play just fine with Boomerang. Just passing along the idea in case anyone else had the same problem. Have a great day!

So, I have had the same problem and my system won't let me install the extension bcs of security issues. I found the google bar work around but recently it isn't working. When I click on the task after I have made it (Which works fine) the page that is brought up is just my inbox--sometimes my personal gmail and other times my work email. But either way, it brings up the email inbox rather than the specific message I had created a task from. Help! I can't live without gqueues and hoping I can find a workaround that will work consistently!!!
