Hi.

I'm try to use remote FCD Pro with GQRX. Can i use borip source (from gr-baz - https://github.com/balint256/gr-baz.git) as source for GQRX? Integrate borip source with GQRX may be usefull because borip server can easy extend to support any hardware supported by gnuradio.

Hi Dmitry,

Adding a new backend support to gqrx requires more time than I have at
the moment, so I suggest you take a look at using the SoapySDR backend
in gr.-osmosdr: https://github.com/pothosware/SoapySDR/wiki

SoapySDR has the capability of providing remote access; however, I am
not sure if it supports Funcube Dongle Pro.

Hi Dmitry,

I have not used it myself, but I found this on their wiki:
https://github.com/pothosware/SoapyRemote/wiki#grosmosdr-remote-devices

So, I guess that you start the soapysdr server, then in gqrx use a
device string like:

soapy=0,driver=remote,remote=1.2.3.4

where 1.2.3.4 is the IP address of the server.
Can you try and see if it works?

I'm try this way to connect but without success. I'm see TCP connection on server side but do not see stream on client side.

Alexandru,

Was there a resolution to Dmitry's issue. I'm also attempting to connect to a remote rtl_sdr dongle running on a SopySDRServer. It works fine using osmocom_fft with this device string
"soapy=0,driver=remote,remote=sdr". When I try with gqrx I don't get a connection on the server. I've tried more specific strings like "soapy=0,driver=remote,remote=sdr,remote:driver=rtlsdr" to no avail.

It seemed to me from reading these posts that you think this should work correct ?

Any suggestions ?

It should work, but I have never tried it myself. The only thing I
have tried is using SDR Play device through the SoapySDR backend.

All I can suggest is to file an issue on github, otherwise I will
forget about it in a few days. Just post the info you provided here
and I will try to take a look at it after the 2.6 release.
