no go for me so far.
Just trying to get unit to run in RTL mode.
Have a good grounded cable.
Mode switch is set left (>24Mhz)
filter switch is set correctly.
gqrx can't control until

installed
soft66-0.1.3-test
which gives the command
# soft66-control -l

Also installed latest libftdi-dev
still nothing.

Anyone have any success with the sof66q under gqrx?

If this "Sparky Debian" is the same thing as Debian Sid, what version of GnuRadio does it install?  Have you installed the rtl-sdr package:
   git clone git://git.osmocom.org/rtl-sdr.git

and tested your dongle say using the rtl_fm program to make sure the basics work first?  See http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/wiki/rtl-sdr for more details there.

Hello Galen,

Found 1 device(s):
  0:  Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIR, SN: 00000001

Ok. that's a good first step

I close that and run gqrx and unit is detected but does not play / decode etc..
exit gqrx
then run
rtl_test again
=
...No supported devices found.

If you start gqrx from the command line and then try to start the sampling process in Gqrx via the upper left button, what do you see in the terminal window?  Please paste it all in here.

creator of Soft6q has thrown in the towel on Linux, aka do it yourself.
So much much for trying to help him find a Linux solution
