No release candidate for Ubuntu 18.04. Any idea when this might be ready?

Hello,

I've just purchased my SDR and am very excited to experimemt.Gqrx comes highly recommended from a variaety of course but I'm upset I can istall!!

I should add that I followed instrctions to install rtl-sdr, and that works.

I just found the static binary images and they work fine - thanks everyone!

Thanks for the update. The standalone binary package should work on
all recent 64 bit linux distributions and be immune againsdt other
installations. The only drawback is that you still need to copy the
udev rules into /etc/udev/rules.d/

The PPA will be updated later as 18.04 gets closer to release.
