gqrx crashes if rx is switched on

Hello,

I have difficulties to get gqrx running on my new notebook (Acer v3 371 58dj with i5-5200u) with the fcd+ dongle.

I have a clean install of pure ubuntu 14.04.2.  gqrx was installed from the ppa (snapshot) as well as from the ubuntu sources.

If I start gqrx from a terminal it comes up normally. If I switch on the dsp; the graphics freezes and I see a continuous stream of "a0a0a0a0..." flooding the terminal. No other unusual message appearing before (gr-osmosdr v0.1.x-xxx-xunknown (0.1.5git) gnuradio 3.7.5.). On my other machine (older HW) everything is running fine.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi mclane,

First, please check the list of known issues for the device you are using:

http://gqrx.dk/ -> Hardware -> Funcube Dongle Pro+ -> Known issues

You are probably having the "too much bandwidth" USB issue, but you
should check to be sure.

Hello Alex,

thanks for pointing me to the right spot. I got it working when I moved the FCDPP from the USB2.0 to the USB 3.0 port.
