Why should cameron face any backlash? The so called ' Honours; are
not given by him.

Sir Jonathan Ive, 44, leads the headlines. Others have been honoured
for their services to the country:

Paul Ruddock – knighted for services to… Well, he gav the Tory Party
£500,000 since 2003. He becomes a Knight Bachelor for services to the
arts – Sir Paul is a City trader who became chairman of the Victoria
and Albert Museum.


Peter Bazalgette – owner of Endemol, who made TV’s Big Brother.

Gerald Ronson – get a CBE. Sure, he was sentenced to 12 months in
prison and fined £5 million for his tole in the Guinness scandal –
convicted of conspiring to create a false market, false accounting and
one of theft. He was fined £5million and sentenced to a year in jail,
but freed after six months for good behaviour. He’s raised loadsa
money for charity while remaining stinking rich.

A Cabinet Office spokesman said that Mr Ronson, 72, had donated more
than £25 million to good causes through the Ronson Foundation. He is
also involved in the running of a number of charities, including the
NSPCC, of which he is a vice-president.

Chris Preddie – OBE for man who created the Making Dreams Reality
charity to deter young people from a criminal life after his brother
was shot dead in a gangland feud. Two of his cousins, Danny and Ricky
Preddie, killed ten-year-old Damilola Taylor.

Richard Taylor OBE, Damilola father is unimpressed. OBE in last year’s
New Year’s Honours List, said: “To be honoured with such a prestigious
award when there are hard-working people who have lost their loved
ones doing similar work in the community isn’t right.”

Helena Bonham Carter – a CBE for the actress who says: “Does it mean I
get to command? Because at the moment it’s my four-year-old daughter
who does the commanding in our household.”

They probably mean something to those that receive them Lil, though it
beats me how some people DO get them. For instance, someone who has
devoted their life to raising funds for a worthy charity may,
deservedly, get an OBE or MBE or whatever. But a chap who used to
work with me and has done nothing more than stick his oar in on the
local parish Council, was awarded an MBE.....why? Goodness
knows. I suppose the old adage of "who you know" must play a part.
