Hi,

Last week we launched a nationwide feed for all public transport operators operating in Sweden. This feed is available at http://www.trafiklab.se/api/gtfs-sverige. You need a key to access the file and you get the key by a simple registration process at www.trafiklab.se

Would be great if you could publish information about this feed at GoogleTransitDataFeed.

Below you find a list of all operators in Sweden (per today) – all available through the feed.

Dear Elias Arnestrand,

thank you for sharing the GTFS of the whole Sweden. That is certainly a great contribution to open data in transportation!

I was wondering if you could help me with a a small difficulty I am having. I have been trying to use Open Trip Planner (OTP) to analyze the GTFS of Sweden but OTP does not recognize the GTFS zipped file. I believe this is because the zipped file does not bring the file shapes.txt .

Is there a website where I can have access to the full GTFS dataset?

kind regards,

Hi

OTP definitely doesn't require shapes.txt which is an optional file in the gtfs spec. So I think your problem lies elsewhere.

Thank you Marcus.

I thought this was the reason why OTP is not recognizing the GTFS zipped file to build the graph. Do you know what else could be causing this ?

Best wishes,

Does OTP build the graph with the OSM data and just not pick-up the GTFS zip file, or does OTP throw an error when you try and build the graph?

It's the first case. It does build the graph with the OSM data, but it does not pick-up the GTFS zip file.

I suspect that is a problem with the command and/or placement of files then. Is the GTFS zip file in the same folder as the OSM file?

I've found the error.

OTP onlyrecognizes the GTFS file if the .txt files are in the root folder of the .zip file.

Thanks for your help, Marcus!

Good you have it fixed. But that isn't an OTP issue. To be a valid gtfs zip the text files should be at the top level of the zip file.

Dear Rafael,

Thanks for your note and your interest in the Swedish GTFS!

shapes.txt is an optional (https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs/reference/) file in a GTFS-set. We do unfortunately not have this data, nor provide it in GTFS. Therefore, you can’t use the dataset in an application that requires shapes.txt.

Though I think Open Trip planner is possible to use without shapes.txt?

Thanks and best regards,

Elias
