Hi Group,

My team are running unit tests for both iPad-specific and iPhone-
specific apps on our CI server (using Hudson). We are also using the
Simulator to run automated functional tests (using Frank -
https://github.com/moredip/Frank) on the same CI box.

We've noticed an issue where if we run the iPad app's unit tests after
the simulator has been running in iPhone mode then we get errors in
the tests like this:

Unknown.m:0: error: -[EntryPageViewControllerTest
testShowsPopoverWhenPayToIsTouched] : -[UIPopoverController
initWithContentViewController:] called when not running under
UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad.

If we launch the simulator manually and switch it to iPad mode, then
run the same unit tests again then it passes. It seems that the
RunIPhoneUnitTest.sh script we're using is not able to specify that
the unit test app run in "iPad mode".

Anyone know of a way to fix or work around this, other than setting up
separate CI boxes for iPad and iPhone builds?

Cheers,
Pete

Sorry for letting this slip through the cracks.  I want to say there might be an environment variable you can set that will control the simulator, but I'm not sure.  Has any searching around the net turned things up?

Thanks for the reply Thomas. I did do some initial googling but had no joy. If anyone has any pointers (even as to what to be googling /for/!) I would be very grateful.

Cheers,
Pete
