preparing for gsoc17

I'm in second year of NIT Kurukshetra. I'm a competitive programmmer. Don't have any advance or medium level knowledge on open source and development. Want to prepare for GSoC'17. 

Only knowledge on Python. Plz tell me step by step guide for preparing from GSoC'17.

Thanks for your interest. Google Summer of Code 2017 is already underway, so you should be preparing for 2018. I can't offer you a step-by-step guide, but we've prepared resources that should help: the Program Rules, Timeline, FAQs, and Student Manual available at g.co/gsoc.

Beyond that, I recommend you get your hands on contributing to open source projects using Python to advance your Python skills and get acquainted with open source contribution processes. That will help you get ready for the 2018 program!
