Points on dashboard and approved edits in mm profile differ what will be counted?

My mapathon Dash board shows less points while as my mm profile has got more approved edits, I need to know what is taken in count and can these points increase with time? I mean the edits done in the contest period (12th feb- 25th march) will be taken in account for the final scores or not?
