And now, here's the latest release of Gin - version 2.1! You can download it now from Gin's download page.

This minor version update contains some small bug fixes and the long awaited Multibindings support, which should function the same way as in standard Guice.

These, as well as many bug fixes and other improvements couldn't have been completed without the help of many supporters and contributors: Thank you!

Note that this release is not compatible with GWT before version 2.5.0.

Enjoy!

Tony

Ah, too bad this release doesn't include the fix for https://code.google.com/p/google-gin/issues/detail?id=186, as it makes GIN incompatible with net.ltgt.gwt.maven/gwt-maven-plugin (https://github.com/tbroyer/gwt-maven-plugin/issues/5)

That said, thank you for GIN and congrats for that new release anyway! ;-)

Actually I merged the fix internally, but it wasn't exported to public svn :(

Good job! I noticed it's not on maven central yet, any plans of publishing it?
Thanks.

And pushed to Maven. Let us know if there are any issues!

It's a pity this release was compiled with a jdk7, it makes this lib incompatible with previous runtimes :

         Loading inherited module 'com.google.gwt.inject.Inject'
[ERROR] Unexpected error while processing XML
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/google/gwt/inject/rebind/GinjectorGenerator : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

Is Gin really needs to be tight with the latest jdk?

Yeah, that's unfortunate, we should be able to compile against at least 6. However, as the release was cut by a volunteer and I don't have time to fix it this might be what we end up with.

Anthony, do you think you could replace the existing jars in both the downloads and maven with ones compiled against java 6?

Who can publish the jar again compatible with Java6?

I've created a new release (2.1.1) with a few minor bug fixes and backwards-compatible through java5. You can find a preview version attached, please check it out and let me know if that works for you. Once I've gotten positive feedback I'll make it available for download and upload it to maven.
