I am trying to build a spreadsheet to collect stock prices and index prices (S&P 500) to calculate the beta for a stock.
However, I have discovered that GoogleFinance is missing the quote for the S&P 500 index on 07/28/2015.
It reports quotes for stocks, but nothing for the index. See the "Error" tab on the link below.
If you look at the "User Selected" tab and scroll down to line 725, you will see a quote for the stock, but nothing for the index. The result is that the two series no longer align by date, making the beta calculation meaningless.
Any ideas on how to bring this to the attention of Google so that it can be fixed?
Yahoo Finance reports an index quote for that day, and identical quotes (to Google) for the day before and the day after 07/28/2015.
