The FetchKML function that I have been using for a while now seems to
just hang when it's called in IE8. This function works fine in other
browsers. Is anyone else having this problem?

The only way I can get the same functionality as in other browsers is
to use the compatibility view.

Hi SteveAtSLC,

We're disabling IE8 support in a day or two while we work out the
kinks.

Thanks for reporting this!

Thanks,

Just installed IE8 and when I open my GE plugin page
http://www.watsonvillewetlandswatch.org/visit.htm I get "The Google
Earth Plugin does not yet support this browser." When I click on
"Learn more >>" I go to http://code.google.com/apis/earth/ where the
plugin does appear to work. Puzzled.

Couple of things.

1. Is the GE plugin supported on IE8 at this time? At
http://code.google.com/apis/earth/documentation/ under XP/Vista it
says it's supported by "Internet Explorer 6.0+".

2. When I get the "The Google Earth Plugin does not yet support this
browser" message quoted in my previous post, the "Learn More>>" link
goes to http://code.google.com/apis/earth/ where I find no mention of
the plugin's browser support. Perhaps this link might be more directly
pertinent to the error message.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hi Steve Z,

IE8 is still unsupported but it is one of our top priorities. The
Learn More link currently leads to the API homepage but we are
considering other options.

Thanks,
Roman

I was able to get the plugin to work with IE 8. I just had to
reinstall the plugin from IE8 when I got the unsupported message.
