Google Earth API for mobile devices

I would like to know if someone has information about whether Google plans to open access to the Google Earth API for mobile developers. 

Using API developers will create cool applications with visualization of 3D landscape. I think that through the engine we'll create a lot of applications that will be in demand and will provide additional advertising to Google
