I saw http://blog.webplatform.org/2013/05/web-platform-docs-in-brackets/ which looked good so I was curious as to what it'd look like in the DevTools.

Here's a sample of it running locally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n1ssLkPg-k is this something that could be useful? Maybe it'd be more suitable as a Chrome Extension (however I don't think sidebar panes can be added to panels other than the Elements panel at this point in time). The basic idea is that Command + clicking CSS properties would bring up their relevant documentation in the sidebar pane within the Sources panel.

Was hoping to get some feedback and share ideas.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing the proof of concept, Umar! This looks great. So, I could be wrong but I think that the team may already be investigating the idea of providing contextual docs hints in the DevTools but am not sure of the current status of this work. I do know that we've been waiting on a confirmation that WPD might be able to support us pulling in the docs for an idea like this.

Pavel?

Yes, we are waiting for webplatform docs to be ready before we link to them. Should be real soon.

When work begins, I wouldn't mind helping out/contributing if at all possible.

I think the work is done, we are just waiting for the target to be ready.

Any news about this?

I think this was worked on but then removed? What is the reason, any technical barriers worth sharing?

Would embedded docs be worth doing through a Chrome Extension?
