CORS preflight failures can't be inspected

When an OPTION preflight for CORS fails, the request will not show up in dev tools network tab. This makes it very difficult to debug.

Also, now that https is everywhere, there's no way to inspect the packets outside the browser.

What options are left for debugging CORS?
