After automatic update to Chrome 64 the Workspace adding the folder by Drag and Drop Filesystem but some of the folders are in light grey and there is no green check icon or green circle next to the files, that's mean the files and folders are not mapping with the files on hard-drive. I watched few tutorial and read lots of article about it but i can make this work.  I attached the screenshoot. What is wrong it this? Do i missing something? One folder in plugins folder is mapping but the rest is also flight grey. Please can you help.. Now i need to download the older 62 version to make this work!!

No Never since the update i cant map my files anymore. I can add the folder but neither green circle is there or the folder is light grey. As you see on the screnshoot below .Do you know how to fix this?

Exactly same problem in Chrome 67, cannot get mapping work in any configuration. I removed ?cache-busting in urls, uploaded non-minified versions, renamed whole local folder tree to match path on the webserver, and yet -- all "mapped" folders are greyed-out and nothing is mapped.

With no manual option to map (and "automagic" failing in such simple and common scenario) i'm not even sure who can use Devtools mapping now?

I haven't seen anyone provide a working example... Just the initial presentation on stage showing the "Magic" and zero information on what the expected workflow is to get the magic to work.

I don't know if this is the same problem or not.  Its well into 2018; I'm using Chrome 68, and having trouble adding a folder to the workspace consistently.  I click "+ Add folder...", drill down, etc., respond to the "dev tools requests...." with Display, and...nothing.  I can pretend to set a breakpoint in a file, but the code doesn't halt.  I can "+ Add" in any number of sequences: before loading the page, after, after clearing cache, open folders in increasing depth, etc. etc. It seems to remain pure chance that decides whether the page is actually added to the workspace.  When it is added...what a terrific tool.  When not...it's infuriating.  Many more observations on the same topic, but first I'd like to see if this elicits any response...
