Hi,
this works

gam user sample...@uconn.edu show forward
gam user sample...@uconn.edu  forward off

The user account also has an alias set to sam0...@uconn.edu

I wanted to know if any versions of GAM allow this to work ?

gam user sam0...@uconn.edu  forward off
gam user sam0...@uconn.edu show forward

Thank you for your time.

Angelo,

The user email and alias can be used interchangeably in this case.

Ross, the reason i asked was it does NOT work for me.
I think i am using version 3.51.

can you show me how you got it to work ?

here is my code output:

[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]# ./gam.py user sample...@uconn.edu show forward
User sample...@uconn.edu:  Forward To:None  Enabled:false  Action:KEEP

[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]# ./gam.py user sam0...@uconn.edu show forward
Error: 1301 - Entity Does Not Exist[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]#

[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]# ./gam.py user sample...@uconn.edu forward on angelo....@uconn.edu keep
Turning forward on for sample...@uconn.edu, emails will be KEEP (1 of 1)

[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]# ./gam.py user sam0...@uconn.edu show forward
Error: 1301 - Entity Does Not Exist[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]#

[root@ga-opt-in GAM-3.51]# ./gam.py user sample...@uconn.edu show forward
User sample...@uconn.edu:  Forward To:angelo....@uconn.edu  Enabled:true  Action:KEEP

thank you.

Angelo,

3.51 is old, I'd update if I were you. Here are your choices:
My copy of Jay's version with additional fixes: https://github.com/taers232c/GAM/releases
An improved version with better command line error checking and additional enhancements: https://github.com/taers232c/GAM-N/releases

Whichever you choose, you must enable additional scopes; follow these instructions:

You must update the list of authorized scopes for your Gam OAuth2 Client and Service Account after installing for the first time or upgrading from a version earlier than 3.7.

- Go here: https://github.com/jay0lee/GAM/wiki/CreatingClientSecretsFile

- Go to the section labelled Authorizing the API scopes for use with GAM in the Admin Console

- Log on to the admin console as in step 2.ii.

- In the list of Authorized API clients, locate your Gam OAuth2 Client, copy the Client ID and then remove the entry.

- Paste the Client ID into the Client name box as in step 2.iii.a, then do steps 2.iii.b thru 2.iii.d.

You'll notice that the API Scopes - OAuth2 list has additional entries, these are what is required in Gam 3.73.

- Skip down to step 3.i.

- In the list of Authorized API clients, locate your Gam Service Account, copy the Client ID and then remove the entry.

- Paste the Client ID into the Client name box as in step 3.i.b, then do steps 3.i.c thru 3.i.e.

You'll notice that the API Scopes - Service Account list has additional entries, these are what is required in Gam 3.73.

Ross,
thanks for telling i need to upgrade.
I finally got the install steps to work on BOTH  GAM 3.71 and GAM 3.75.

Only 3.75 gets me what i want so i will stick with that version.

I had some issues making out the instructions you gave with the ones at the link
https://github.com/jay0lee/GAM/wiki/CreatingClientSecretsFile
because the web interface has changed since the creation of the SOP at the link.

I will attempt to attach a file of my STEPS in case it helps someone else.
Installing GAM is not easy IMHO at all.
thank you again, I'm all set.
