sync contacts/groups across two domains

Is there a way to sync contacts and groups between two domains?  We are a law school and have two domains, one for students and another for faculty staff and professors.  We want to sync all of the student domain contacts with the faculty domain so that they are easily searchable for the faculty.   We were able to do this with Flash Panel but are looking for alternatives now they have changed there business model.  Any help would be great!
