Email Deletion

The email deletion ability in GAM is scary. Is there a way to configure oath to prevent this functionality? As a sysadmin, access to user configuration is one thing but once you get into content manipulation it’s a new ballgame.

Nothing requires you to authorize the scope.  I leave my client unauthorized and only authorize it if there's a need to perform RW operations on email.  Then I deauthorize when done.

Which scope allows access to content like this? Isn’t this scope also required for configuration access? It seems that the scopes may be too broadly defined.
