Node.js GAE Standard - 11-40 second latencies for screenshot demo

I'm attempting to run the example on the official docs for Headless Chrome on GAE standard: https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/standard/nodejs/using-headless-chrome-with-puppeteer

Seeing very long latency (11-40 seconds) for any site to render and return the screenshot. Deploying exactly has described in the docs, no changes, and creating a new project (deployed in us-central). 

Checking to see if this is expected on GAE Standard or if I should be trying to optimize?

I tried the sample and see a latency around 11s through Trace List. Measuring the latency for puppeteer.launch, I noticed that the main latency comes from Puppeteer library.

I see that you have created duplicate thread about this question on Google Cloud Platform GitHub as well. So I recommend that you continue the thread on GitHub.

Thank you. Yes, for some reason the latency is not present when deploying the same application on App Engine Flex. 

The load time for puppeteer.launch is 0ms vs 6000-9000ms on GAE Standard.
