how to validate youtube links

I have a collection of about 2000 YouTube links on my web page
http://ifdo.ca/~seymour/videolinks. Is there a way that I can
determine which links no longer work (eg. removed video,
video made private, channel removed etc.)
I used to have a tcl/tk script which determined the size
of every video link and flagged all the links which were below a
certain threshold. The script no longer works since Google
introduced a new system.
I know some Python. None of the sample programs on
https://code.google.com/p/google-api-python-client/wiki/SampleApps#YouTube_Data_API
seem to be relevant.
