.mrc vs .erg sufferfest

 I loaded two sufferfest workouts from mrc and erg files. Attaced are the different workouts they both give you. I found it much harder to do the mrc version since the peaks make it harder to recover when the video says recover you are still in a high watt. I am guessing the sufferfest videos are intended to be ridden more like the erg workout in the picture with squared rises and not peaks like the mrc version. What is everyone else using or what are your opinions?

Did you generate those from the spreadsheet? Personally I just adjusted the parameters a bit to match my very flat MMP curve.

It looks like there is much more time at the recovery wattages in the erg file. I can't speak to whether that matches the videos, but it seems to me that one would want such recovery in order to maximize the peak outputs.

The erg matches the video. If you write the file without start/stop points for each interval, it will automatically make a steady gradient between the two...like you see in the mrc file. There is nothing inherently wrong about mrc files, but that specific one wasn't made correctly.
