GC 3.4 crashes during backup on Windows 10

GC works fine with its normal operations, but crashes when processing either a manual athlete data backup, or an auto-backup file. It gets about 97% complete. There is a resulting .zip file created, but it seems to be corrupt as it will not open. The zip file is also smaller than what is should be.
The error message is the generic Windows crash report. "GoldenCheetah.exe has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to working correctly..."
It is happening on two different computers of mine with W10.
Has anybody else seen this?
