Hi,

I have used go-qml to write a small UI [1] for the Passwordstore password manager [2]. I'm quite happy with the development experience so far, it was very easy to get a cross-platform app going. Thanks for doing this!

I have run in to some issues when trying to make it look good on a graphical desktop, specifically I want the icon to show up in the task switcher in Gnome 3.

I did eventually get it to work with the two patches in my pull request [3].  My experience with C++ and QT/QML is quite limited, so I'm looking for some feedback if this is the right approach and if the code looks reasonable.

I also noticed there are some branches floating around with very similary patches, specifically [4].

Given the recent thread about the status of the project, I'm of course also somewhat concerned if there is a chance that the PR will be merged eventually, or if I should be prepared to maintain my own branch.
