Problems reading files with Ascii \0

I have a file which contains some text and part of that text there is sometimes the \0 character (first ascii char).
Now the highlighting of such a line is strange (seems like textshifting to me) and if I try to select and copy that line it just copies the line until the first \0.
Any workaround for that? Would it be possible (like N++) to show the \0 somehow?
