I hope this is a reasonable plaice to post a meta issue like this.
Here is my current understanding:
- Gitlab CE is free and open source.
- Gitlab EE is proprietary and open source.
- Gitlab.com runs Gitlab EE.
And here's the part of the license that has me confused:
GitLab and/or its
licensors (as applicable) retain all right, title and interest in and to all
Software incorporated in such modifications and/or patches, and all such
Software may only be used, copied, modified, displayed, distributed, or
otherwise exploited with a valid GitLab Enterprise Edition subscription
I'm currently a
gitlab.com user and interested in contributing to features that seem to be EE-only. To be legally compliant, wouldn't I have to purchase a subscription in order to make a pull request to gitlab-ee?
