Hi Everyone! 

Brooksource, an IT services firm here in Columbus, is working exclusively with a large retail organization here in town to find talented Front-End Web Developers.  There are a couple of openings, and they are all on their e-commerce UI team.  This is a great opportunity to use and sharpen your skills with some of the newest web technologies, and this is a fun/laid back team to work with!  A brief job description is below.

Front-End Web Developer
3+ years experience writing custom HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Expertise writing semantic, modular front end code using HTML5, CSS3, and W3C coding practices a must. Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g. SASS, LESS) and Javascript MV* Frameworks (e.g. Backbone, AngularJS, Ember) is a plus.

Additional requirements:

- Familiarity with browser testing and debugging

- Expertise in performance optimization using tools such as YSlow or PageSpeed

- Experience navigating Photoshop and slicing/saving images for the web.

- Experience writing simple SQL statements (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE)

- Experience using jQuery

- Experience using JSP/JSTL or equivalent server side templating language (PHP, ASP)

- Experience developing cross-platform experiences; mobile, tablet, desktop

- A firm grasp of SEO / SEM best practices


Personality/Behaviors:

- We like people who stays up to date with current technologies. They read development blogs, newsletters, follow other notable developers on Twitter, etc.

- We like people who are passionate about what they do. They have side projects, their own website, and contribute to Github projects.

- For the marketing stream especially, we like an adaptive person who can handle rapidly changing requirements; this person should be able to prototype UX/UI frameworks with minimal design lead, and stay on the forefront of emerging front end development techniques.
