Hey guys,

I'd like to have Genymotion running on one machine and my development environment running on another.  I tried doing adb connect to the IP address displayed at the top of the virtual box window, but that didn't work.  Looking at the connection settings in virtual box, I'm guessing this is because the network adapter is set up for host only.   I attempted to change that, but it is being set back when I run genymotion.

Anyone have any advice on how I might make this work?

You have to change "Adapter 2" in the Network Settings to "bridged adapter". "Adapter 1" is used by Genymotion to run the Device Display and other interfaces that make the VM work. Download the "network info ii" app from the play store to find your VM's "eth1" IP address. Now from the "Work" computer run in terminal/command-prompt "adb connect XXX.XXX.XXX:5555" Where X is the device's IP. You should now have ADB access to the VM :)

If all the above fails then you can try forwarding the ports using SSH.

Worked perfectly.   Thanks so much!  Only additional step was adding an exception for Oracle VirtualBox in my firewall on my windows box.
