Recently we purchased new computers running windows 10. We use google cloud print to print to different printers. I have not had any issues installing the software till now. I downloaded 2 different versions of cloud print (1.3.29.1 and 1.3.29.5) and for some reason during the installation process, i get a message saying "Installation filed. Please try again". Attached is the screen shot of the message. Any ideas how to install cloud print successfully? I've installed the software many times and this is the first time I get this error. Please advice.

Thanks

Got the exact same issue, I thought it was an isolated issue so I reinstalled the computer from scratch with a clean ISO from microsoft but upon installing, I was faced with the same error saying basicly nothing. And now ive reinstalled a client PC for no reason. Tried installing it on my own main PC aswell just for fun and yeah, same problem. Not sure where the problem lies since ive installed this on 2 other machines which also runs win10 but it was a while ago and either Google made an update to the driver recently making it unusable or its a windows update patch which has messed things up. Would help alot if one could see a log of whats happening during installation of the cloud printer driver...

Update!

Found out the location of the log file and its in c:\program files (x86)\google\cloud printer\ver\debug.txt

And it contained the following text
[0726/150010:WARNING:setup.cc(370)] Unable to open printer
[0726/150010:WARNING:setup.cc(320)] Print driver is already uninstalled.
[0726/150010:WARNING:setup.cc(263)] File is missing: XPSSVCS.DLL
[0726/150010:ERROR:setup.cc(305)] Unable to add printer driver
[0726/150010:ERROR:setup.cc(402)] Unable to install driver.
[0726/150010:INFO:setup.cc(543)] Det gick inte att hitta den markerade skrivardrivrutinen på datorn. Drivrutinen måste hämtas. HRESULT=0x80070bcb

Found this thread after searching about the XPS driver

Supposedly some update did mess up the google cloud printer driver. Im throwing myself into the insider slow ring and will see if the new 14393 build will solve it

Edit: Build 14393 didnt fix it

Edit2: Seems its being worked on already https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=629512

Edit3: Maybe not, bug has been reported in May already so not a high prio I guess https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/list?can=2&q=component%3AServices%3ECloudPrint%3EDriver+&colspec=ID+Pri+M+Stars+ReleaseBlock+Component+Status+Owner+Summary+OS+Modified&x=m&y=releaseblock&cells=ids

Edit4: Done lots of things to try and remedy the problem but no go, I ended up using IPP protocol on the printer instead (a bit harder to get started but it works atleast)

Edit5: We need more ppl to vote up the issue, please visit https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=629512# and log in (if u arent logged in already) and then press the star in the upperleft corner. Thank you!

Are you all aware of the bug report about this problem on this bugs.chromium.org web page? You could contribute to it.

Try the latest BETA driver of Google Cloud Print. I had the same issue on two Windows 10 computers, but issue was solved with this.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,
Vincent

Have you tried using the workaround, by using the web page in chrome and pushing the print button? if your cloud printer is listed here, it will work by stepping throug a few more steps, just drag and drop the local file you wnat to print .

Use this link:
CTRL+F and search for TEST_gcp_driver.zip
Download it, unzip it and run install.bat "As Administrator"..
It is working even in latest Windows 10.. No need of original setup file from Google Cloud Print webpage..
