I would like to set up an instance on GCE to run an enterprise application that unfortunately, is running a license manager bound to a particular MAC address.

How can I change the MAC address for the NIC in my Windows Server 2012 instance?

Hi Dave,

Sorry, but customizing the MAC address is not currently supported in GCE. :/

Ok, as a work-around can I create another NIC with my own MAC address and add it to the machine?  Something link this for AWS?

Hi Dave,

I am not sure if by tweaking some settings in GCP you can achieve this without affecting the server functionality. I would rather suggest to contact the software vendor, they might offer you a license scheme that works for you. GCE instances will keep the same MAC address as long as they exists
