Cannot push to Container Registry – https://appengine.gcr.io/v2/ 404 Not Found

Hello everyone,

does anyone have problems with pushing images to Container Registry? I just came to work after a weekend and I’m getting this:

$ gcloud docker -- push gcr.io/<project_id>/<image>

ERROR: Docker CLI operation failed:

Error response from daemon: login attempt to https://appengine.gcr.io/v2/ failed with status: 404 Not Found

ERROR: (gcloud.docker) Docker login failed.

It definitely worked two days ago. The only related change I can think of is that I installed a MacOS update over the weekend.

I found this guy on serverfault with the same problem https://serverfault.com/questions/856425/gcloud-docker-push-results-in-login-attempt-failed-with-404.

Hello Zdeněk,

This could be a network issue, can you try with a different computer or network to see if that resolves the issue?
